Does anyone realize how hard it is to photograph birds? It’s like they know when I have a camera! But of course, when I don’t have my camera, I see them EVERYWHERE!

I helped my dad move yesterday (yes, on Christmas ). When we got to my dad’s new house, there were birds everywhere. It’s such a nice, quiet, beautiful place. I love it. It’s the best place in our town to sit out on your porch and have a cup of coffee. It’s amazing. From my dad’s porch you can see rabbits, birds…all kinds of cute animals, lol.

I have GOT to go out there more often with my camera more often!

Ah! I’m gone for a month (or was it 2?), and I come back and everything has changed! Lol. Oh well, I think I kind of like it. Anyways, sorry for the lack of posts…school and work and the holidays (Really, who decided that all these holidays should be smooshed together?) I just haven’t had time. But, I’m finished with this semester (All A’s and B’s!), and the Holidays are almost over…so I’m trying to catch up on everything I’ve been wanting to do (organization, photography, scrapbooking, crafts, reading, etc etc etc…). Anyways, I took a few shots of the frost and such early one morning about a week ago:

School is ridiculous. I think I should be able to teach without having a degree. I can handle it . Anyways, that’s what is taking up my time nowadays. It really drains the inspiration right out of you. I’ve been contemplating deleting both my deviantart and my flickr, but I just couldn’t make myself do it. I may end up deleting my deviantart (simply because I’m not ever on there), but I know too many people on flickr and am so inspired everytime I log in that I just couldn’t do it!

But I digress…

My boyfriend and I went to Carter’s Lake this weekend (Google it, then GO TO IT – it’s a photographer’s paradise )

I am officially claiming a part of it as Ashley-territory. It is the only place I’ve ever felt so alive and inspired. I could sit out there forever. It’s my favorite place to think and explore.

Going to try my hand at 365 days again…which hopefully means I’ll post more often now, lol. I just hope I don’t stop again becuase I don’t have enough time.

**UPDATE** Okay, I played around a little and I think I’ve decided on this design above. It’s a lot easier to read and you can never go wrong with black/white/and pink, right?

So, what do you guys think?

I’ve been trying to get my “real” website up and running, and I needed to make a logo. I also figured since I was sitting there in photoshop that I’d make a business card to go along with it, lol. It needs to be a little darker (I made it on my laptop so everything is always lighter when I end up looking at it on a desktop…go figure )

Anyways, for some updates: I had a photoshoot last weekend. I’ll get those posted up as soon as I can get back to my computer at home.

I also have a photoshoot with a friend of mine next weekend, she is planning on making a calender for her boyfriend who is being deployed soon to Iraq. Those probably won’t be posted…I’m doing a pin-up style version for the calender and she probably won’t want them posted. But I’m so excited! I’m a little nervous because I’m not very knowledgable on light and indoors…but I’m sure we’ll work through it

AND I have an on-going project where I’m shooting locals (haha, that sounds funny…sorry) and I’ll possibly be making a book out of this…we’ll see how it pans out. I’ll try to post new ones as I get the volunteers.

Other than that, that’s it! I’ve been so wrapped up in my school work and then work itself I really just haven’t had time for anything else! I’m such a nerd…or is this growing up?

…I know.

School is really kicking my rear…BUT I’m making all A’s and B’s on my midterms so I’m hoping that it’ll stay that way and I can get my HOPE back (it’s a scholarship of sorts for college students living in Georgia – I lost it after my first year of college because I pretty much underestimated the work load. Ah, well…such is life.)

I’ve been having a terrible time emotionally…it’s hard to explain a lot. I’m not anticipating staying at my job much longer (and this is something I’m NOT volunteering for), I really feel like a lot of my friends have turned their backs on me (long story – but if that’s the case then it’s for the better…it was for ridiculous reasons anyhow), I’m feeling down, things are definitely not looking well for me religiously (and it’s strictly my fault), I pulled my back on Tuesday and I’m recuperating from it, ick…

Anyways, Ronny took me to the fair recently. You know, it’s nothing like it used to be when I was little…but I still had a fairly good time. As much as we fight and argue and say A LOT of dumb things to each other…I really don’t think I could live without him. He makes me happy on a lot of different levels. I could be so down and out and I still feel a spark when he’s with me. I really don’t give him the credit he probably deserves.

I climb out of this spiderweb of a life and find my way back to the Light.

I’m tired of living for nothing and feeling empty and worthless.

Pray that I will be able to defeat satan and his temptations, and become strong again to do God’s will.
